Standards
Standards
Buyers usually arrive with a standard number rather than a machine type. These pages record where each standard appears in our published equipment descriptions.
GB 15083-2006
GB 15083 — seat systems, seat anchorages and head restraints
GB 15083 is the Chinese national standard cited in our published seat test equipment for automotive seat system strength. The same equipment description cites Annex C of the standard for the seat energy-absorption test.
ECE R17
ECE R17 — seats, their anchorages and head restraints
ECE R17 is the UNECE regulation cited in our published seat strength equipment. The same equipment descriptions also cite ECE R80 for bus seats, ECE R14 for safety-belt anchorages and ECE R21 for interior fittings and head restraints.
FMVSS 207
FMVSS 207 — seating systems
FMVSS 207 is the US federal motor vehicle safety standard cited in our published seat strength equipment, together with FMVSS 216a for roof crush resistance and FMVSS 214 for side impact protection in the body structure test range.
ISO 6487
ISO 6487 — measurement techniques in impact tests
ISO 6487 defines the measurement techniques used in impact tests, including the channel filter classes (CFC). Our published seat test equipment states that its recorded data is filtered to the CFC60 class.
How to read these pages
This page records where the standard is cited in our published equipment descriptions. It is not a summary of the standard and must not be used as one — always work from the official standard text issued by the standards body.Testing to a standard not listed here?
Send the standard number and revision. We will confirm whether our published equipment covers the test items, and what still has to be confirmed.
